Goshenite

Introduction to the Meaning and Uses of Goshenite

Called the mother of crystals, beautiful, colorless Goshenite is the purest of the Beryls, a feminine crystal of the moon and angels, associated with motherhood. It is a high-frequency, spiritually-guided crystal that resonates to the frequency of Truth, offering a clear and honest look into the self and aids in discerning the sincerity of others. It promotes truthfulness above all, and encourages fidelity in relationships, honoring loyalty and respect, perseverance and open-heartedness.

As crystal balls for scrying the truth or seeing into the future. They were traditionally placed on the eyelids at night to improve eyesight, and were historically polished into lenses for magnifying glasses, and became the earliest spectacles. They represent purity of being and actualizing potential.

In today’s metaphysical world, colorless Beryl is used not only to improve vision, but to open the Crown and Etheric Chakras in stimulating the mental centers. It increases one’s ability to learn and think analytically, and facilitates creativity, originality, and artistic expression. It enhances inner visions during meditation and is a valuable aid in lucid-dream work, directing the energy of each revelation of life’s experiences toward the higher aspects of one’s being.

Named for its major discovery in Goshen, Massachusetts, USA, Goshenite is the purest form of Beryl, containing fewer impurities than the colored varieties. It is an aluminum beryllium silicate mineral that forms in prismatic or vertically striated crystals, sometimes terminated by small pyramidal faces. It is transparent to translucent, with a vitreous luster. Though the gem value is relatively low, it is most commonly used for gemstone or metaphysical purposes, and considered as a source of beryllium.

While Goshenite is the colorless variety of Beryl, the Beryl family also forms in other colors used as gems, such as green Emerald, blue Aquamarine, yellow Heliodor and Golden Beryl, Red Beryl or Bixbite, and pink Morganite. Used in combination, Goshenite enhances the energies of all Beryls and increases their healing and transformative properties.

Goshenite Uses and Purposes

As a crystal of motherhood, Goshenite makes a lovely Mother’s Day or Mothering Sunday gift, especially for a mother who has struggled to bring up children, either as a single parent or because of health or financial difficulties. It is also a nice crystal given from a mother to a daughter when she becomes a mother herself.

Goshenite increases one’s ability and tendency to think analytically and is particularly stimulating to mathematical intelligence. It is an ideal stone for students and professionals who require these skills in their everyday tasks.

Goshenite is an excellent crystal to carry during medical tests or examinations for a clear diagnosis and, when necessary, for effective treatment.

In the workplace, Goshenite speeds up the tempo of co-workers who procrastinate or forget to follow-up, leaving you to compensate for their inadequacies. It encourages honest dealings, deters gossip, and can reveal those who pilfer supplies. It is also a protective stone to wear or carry if you must keep secrets and protect confidential information.

Wear Goshenite if you feel a lover or partner is being unfaithful. It is a stone that encourages fidelity, but can intuitively alert you to the difference between unfounded insecurity and warning signs.

Goshenite Physical Healing Energy

As a crystal of the moon, Goshenite is believed to balance body fluids and hormones, and is highly beneficial in overcoming mood swings, acute PMS, post-natal depression and bi-polar disorders.

Goshenite has been credited with improving eyesight, and supports the healing of headaches, insomnia, allergies and sinusitis, and viruses or infections that affect the immune system. It may be used to detoxify and energize the body, reduce stress-related exhaustion and to improve conditions of the leg and arm muscles that result in pain.

Goshenite Emotional Healing Energy

Goshenite offers an uplifting energy, one of plentitude and comfort, inspiration and relief from concerns. It assists in maintaining composure and self-control, and is sustaining through the “surprises” of life. It is an excellent stone for stabilizing relationships and brings a loving and companionable energy to the user. It is conducive to higher thought and creativity, and inspires one to seek a new vision of what is possible and to express one’s message through writing, art or speech.

Goshenite Chakra Healing and Balancing Energy

Goshenite is particularly activating to the Crown Chakra, located at the top of the head. It is our gateway to the expanded universe beyond our bodies and controls how we think and how we respond to the world around us. It is the fountainhead of our beliefs and the source of our spirituality. It connects us to the higher planes of existence and is the source of universal energy and truth. When the Crown is in balance, our energies are in balance. We know our place in the universe and see things as they are. We are unruffled by setbacks, knowing they are an essential part of life.

In body layouts, Goshenite can be placed on any chakra to clear and invigorate the area, and works in combination with other crystals to increase and enhance their properties.
